"Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!" (Ps.107:8.) It is with a sincere desire to praise God for His goodness that this testimony is given.

My mother introduced Christian Science into our home, but it was a number of years before I became interested enough to study in earnest. My first healing was that of chronic constipation, and my freedom came through the reading of Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy. Coughs, colds, and influenza were also healed.

One morning as I was bending over to put on my shoes, I found it impossible to rise and was forced to the floor with excruciating pain in my back. There I remained until I was helped to a sofa. The next few days and nights I spent reading, pondering, working, as we are taught to do in Christian Science. Every few hours I would try to get up and walk, declaring the truth with each move. On the third day I was able to dress and meet my husband at the door. After that, progress was steady until complete freedom was realized, and my back felt stronger than it had in years. My husband's sustaining thoughts at this time were very helpful.
