In Luke (13:11) we read about...
In Luke (13:11) we read about a woman who "was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself." Over fifty years ago I found myself in a similar condition. I was told by three doctors, of differing schools of thought, that I had an extreme ease of rheumatism and that there was nothing they could do for me. I had to be fed and was unable to sleep.
My mother had been healed through Christian Science of a severe ease of insomnia, which had threatened her reason. When she asked if I would try Christian Science treatment, I consented; for I knew that it could not hurt me, and I had suffered so much that I was willing to try anything that would not hurt.
Mother then sent for the practitioner who had helped her. When she came into my room and sat by the bed she said, "You should be out in the sunshine this lovely May morning." This made me indignant, but it did arouse me from the apathy into which I had fallen, not caring to live and, in fact, praying to pass on if that would end the pain.
