The concluding chapter of Second Kings relates that Jehoiachin, king of Judah, after his release from prison, was allotted by the king of Babylon a continual allowance, "a daily rate for every day, all the days of his life" (verse 30). This was indeed a splendid illustration of goodness expressed in generosity to a fellow being.
