What a marvelous change Christian Science...

What a marvelous change Christian Science has wrought in me! Unlovely traits of character were corrected when I learned that God's child can express only Godlike qualities.

From the very first healing I had, great spiritual unfoldment started. I was reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy but had not as yet become acquainted with our precious Bible Lessons in the Christian Science Quarterly. One day while preparing the noon meal, I lifted a saucepan full of hot water off the stove and spilled a large part of it on my hand and arm. I knew no specific truth to apply at that time; so all I could do was to turn my thought to God. That was all that was needed. There was no burn or even any discoloration. Thus the truth of the omnipotence of God and the nothingness of matter started to dawn in my consciousness.

Through my use of the last stanza of Hymn No. 49 in the Christian Science Hymnal nervousness was overcome. Allowing Mind to direct my ways, I felt no need for hurry and worry. For quite a few years before I began to study Christian Science I had suffered from what the medical fraternity diagnosed as an arthritic condition. However, after I accepted this Science that condition entirely disappeared, and it has never returned.
