On page 369 of Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy says, "The prophylactic and therapeutic (that is, the preventive and curative) arts belong emphatically to Christian Science, as would be readily seen, if psychology, or the Science of Spirit, God, was understood."

The truth of this statement has been proved in my family for many years. My grandparents began the study of Christian Science when my grandfather was healed of tuberculosis. My mother was still a child at the time; so she was able to attend a Christian Science Sunday School for several years.

My father became a student of Christian Science also, and my brother and I were enrolled in the Sunday School at an early age. For the wonderful grounding in Truth which I received both at home and in Sunday School I am profoundly grateful. However, it was not until I was adult that I began to make these truths my own and to do my own prayerful work, instead of just relying on the support of my parents.
