"HAVE FAITH IN GOD"

How we love these words of the great Master (Mark 11:22, 23): "Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith."

It is through spiritual sense that one has faith in the Father. Regardless of how big a problem may appear to be, the sense of it as being something fades away as one steadfastly listens to God through spiritual sense. Our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, tells us in "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 82), "As mortal mind, or the material sense of life, is put off, the spiritual sense and Science of being is brought to light." The desire of the earnest student of Christian Science is for a faith that cannot be daunted by any material sense testimony.

As long as one turns to matter for evidence, he will not have faith in God. Nor will the one who thinks of himself as dependent upon matter and who believes that there are evil material laws that can harm him manifest the harmony and abundance which belong to man, the reflection of God. Through spiritual sense one puts off the material sense of life and sees man as living in Spirit, the all-harmonious Life. By often turning to spiritual sense testimony, one gains true faith and proves that harmony is the fact.
