EVER-PRESENT LOVE IS OUR FATHER-MOTHER

"Our Father-Mother God, all-harmonious" In this comforting, all-embracing name for God, Mary Baker Eddy gives us on page 16 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," the true concept of man's tender, divine Parent. For here, in her spiritual interpretation of the first phrase of the Lord's Prayer, "Our Father which art in heaven" (Matt. 6:9), Mrs. Eddy reveals that this all-knowing, all-seeing, all-acting One is equally Father and Mother.

Christian Science reveals the absolute goodness and changeless loving-kindness of the Father-Mother, who is All-in-all. The very completeness and everywhereness of God, whose name is Love, rule out even the possibility of am opposing evil or negative power. Man perfectly reflects his Father-Mother's completeness. Indeed, man is a compound and complete idea, forever whole and satisfied.

Christ Jesus reflected God's completeness in all that he thought and lived. In his consciousness, intelligence, wisdom, justice, and spiritual strength were combined with love, purity, goodness, and peace. In his thinking, each divine quality was always active. That was why his healing power was so triumphantly successful.
