Christian Science came to me...

Christian Science came to me when I was greatly in need of happiness. I had heard this religion mentioned several times, and one noon I attended a Wednesday testimony meeting. What an impression that meeting made on me! I think it was due to the happiness that radiated from the people present; and I felt that Christian Science had something for me.

Later on I decided to see a practioner; and I was lovingly told that I should learn the truth regarding God, for then I would know what man is as God's image and likeness, reflecting the attributes of perfect Mind. I knew that I needed to be healed of fear and also of resentment at my husband's false desire for alcohol.

One night when I was alone with our children, I became very sorry for myself. Realizing that I was indulging self-pity, I turned to God and affirmed that His child could reflect only Life, Truth, and Love. I can now see that by affirming this truth strongly I was shutting the door on error.
