SEIZING OPPORTUNITIES

It has been said that opportunity likes not the tardy lover. Certainly many have regretted their failure to improve opportunities which have knocked at their door. However, to fear that opportunity will not knock again is to believe that our heavenly Father is variable and that He has forgotten some of His children. God is divine Life, Truth, and Love. He is omnipotent Spirit, ever conscious of His spiritual family, conscious of the spiritual universe of His creating. He would not and could not forget or neglect man, who is His complete expression.

Occasion to do good, see good, and be good stands at the door of consciousness, waiting for the warm welcome of absolute faith and humble receptivity. Glorious experiences of joy, well-being, health, happiness, and success result from watching for and improving every opportunity to magnify Christ, the true idea of God, in consciousness and thus serve God and our fellow men.

Christian Science reveals the true nature of God, divine Principle. Love, and shows that man is God's reflection, ever at the standpoint of spiritual opportunity. Mary Baker Eddy writes in "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany'" (p. 190), "Jesus gave his disciples (students) power over all manner of diseases; and the Bible was written in order that all peoples, in all ages, should have the same opportunity to become students of the Christ, Truth, and thus become God-endued with power (knowledge of divine law) and with 'signs following.'"
