I wish to express gratitude for Christian Science and for the protection it brought me during World War II while I was in the Army Air Force. Since I had entered the service at the age of eighteen and had never before been away from home, Army life was quite a change for me, and I felt very lonely and homesick.

I was wonderfully lifted out of this depressed state of mind when I had a talk with the one who was serving our camp in the capacity of Christian Science Wartime Minister, as these workers were then known. He pointed out to me that God is the true Father-Mother, from whom there is no separation. This truth is brought out in the spiritual interpretation of the Lord's Prayer, given on pages 16 and 17 of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

During this same period the group I was in was receiving the various inoculations required of all service people. With Christian Science to support me, I was able to come through this experience and continue required activities with very little discomfort.
