"O MAGNIFY THE LORD WITH ME"

The Psalmist sang (Ps. 34:3), "O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together." The Christian Scientist learns to magnify good; in fact, he finds the truth of existence to be that God, good, is All-in-all and that there is no other reality.

Mary Baker Eddy says (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 206): "The real Christian Scientist is constantly accentuating harmony in word and deed, mentally and orally, perpetually repeating this diapason of heaven: 'Good is my God, and my God is good. Love is my God, and my God is Love.'" Someone may ask, "But how can good be All, for I see evidence of evil; sin is widespread, disease is frequent, death seems inevitable?"

Viewed from the material standpoint, man appears to be subject to many forms of evil. Christian Science, however, discards the carnal mind as unreal and recognizes God as the only Mind and intelligence, and man as His idea. Man possesses a nature derived from God, or good, and from nowhere else, and this nature includes all the attributes of good, such as integrity, justice, affection, purity, wisdom, and love.
