Rocky River, Ohio (First Church).

A major milestone in the progress of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Rocky River, will be marked tomorrow with dedication of its edifice at Wagar and Detroit Roads. ...

The structure ... was erected in 1950 and has been in use since November 19 of that year.

First meeting of residents of the suburb to consider forming the church was held in Kensington School on April 29, 1947.

In the months that followed came the formal organization; official recognition as a branch society of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, Massachusetts; the purchase of the building site, and establishment of a Reading Room at 19211 Detroit Road in the suburb.

Ground was broken March 24, 1950, and the cornerstone was laid two months later.

The Reading Room has since been moved to the church building.
