HOW CHRISTIAN SCIENCE HEALS April 7, 1956 Issue

RADIO PROGRAM No. 133 - A Life Transformed

Bernice Lewsader

On this program Mrs. Bernice Lewsader of Okemos, Michigan, told of her own experience. The program was as follows:

Speaker: God's love and goodness, which were so clearly demonstrated in the glorious resurrection of the Master, Christ Jesus, are present today to wipe away fear and gloom and to bring awakening and healing to receptive hearts everywhere. It was through such awakening that today's guest saw total blindness, tuberculosis, poverty, and a lost home give way to joy, peace, and complete healing. As you listen to our guest's experience, she'll explain how her healing came about, what she herself had to do, and how her prayer was answered. Our guest is Mrs. Bernice Lewsader of Okemos, Michigan.

Mrs. Lewsader: Well, sir, a number of years ago I very suddenly lost my sight. My husband took me to all the local specialists, and they pronounced me beyond help. Then I was taken to a large clinic in Chicago. I stayed there for six weeks under the observation of twenty eye specialists. They told me I couldn't possibly regain my vision because the sight film had been destroyed. The eye difficulty was attributed to a condition I had before our second child was born, and I was advised not to have any more children. Also, they reported evidence of tuberculosis, and I was told I'd better return home for treatment. They gave me only two years, at the most, to live.
