I shall never cease to be grateful...

I shall never cease to be grateful to the one who introduced Christian Science into our home when he saw our great need for it. Prior to this introduction, I was ill the greater part of the time. I had left the church where I had been an active member for many years, because it did not meet my need. But the spiritual understanding and application of Christian Science have met my every need, and I now enjoy an active and useful life. With a heart full of gratitude I give this testimony. In the words of the Psalmist (Ps. 107:2), "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy."

As I gained some concept of the truth of God and man in my early study of Science, I was healed of hay fever and asthma. That was twenty years ago, and the healing has been permanent. In a family of four there have been many testing times. Some of the discords which the Christ, Truth, has delivered us from have been headaches, constipation, colds, burns, jaundice, sprains, dog bites, and children's diseases. Some of these conditions have been healed through our own understanding and some through the consecrated work of a practitioner, who stood by us lovingly and faithfully.

One experience that I am especially grateful for was the healing of nervous exhaustion. For months I lay around listless and despondent, crying a great deal of the time. I could not raise my thinking above the difficulty. One day a member of the family told me that Christian Science is a religion of joy and that in order to abide by its teachings I must express joy. The word "joy" was like a light shining in the darkness, and I then and there decided that I would express this quality.
