Because of Them Whole Communities Are Now Aware of Christian Science

Our church is located in a long, narrow storeroom in the front of which, without partition, the Reading Room was maintained for seven years. Because of its rather remote location, the Reading Room had to be sought out, and but few passers by came into the room.

In February, 1955, a committee was appointed to find suitable quarters in which to establish a more useful and attractive Reading Room. With the spiritual and moral support of the church membership, a room was found in a business section. This property was converted into a most attractive Reading Room by church members with some professional assistance. Men of the congregation built counters, cabinets, study tables, and book shelves, as well as a partition to separate the salesroom from the study room. Air conditioning assures comfort during the summer months. Work began in March, and the public was invited to the opening on April 18.
