When I was a little child, Christian Science healed my father, who was about to pass on with blood poisoning after leading physicians had abandoned all hope of his recovery. In the many years that have since intervened, members of our family have had healings of various types of physical ailments, including nervous breakdown, colds, headaches, and physical exhaustion. Financial and business problems have been solved, and loneliness, grief, and loss have been overcome by Christian Science. Whenever the truth, as taught by Mary Baker Eddy, has been applied with the whole heart, the difficulty has vanished into its native nothingness.

Membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, class instruction, and aid when needed from Christian Science practitioners, have been most helpful in my advance Spiritward. I wish particularly to express my gratitude for the protection and guidance afforded me by Christian Science during my occupancy of various public offices.

Repeatedly, I saw the most vexing and difficult problems of public office yield to earnest application of Christian Science. During these experiences, I found that Mrs. Eddy's Soul-inspired article "Taking Offense," on pages 223 and 224 of "Miscellaneous Writings," helped me to maintain my poise under most trying circumstances and to attain a just and loving but impersonal sense of things.
