I should like to tell of a healing for which I am most deeply grateful because it liberated me from the fear of a hereditary condition which had haunted me for many years. After experiencing almost constant discomfort, I confided this condition to a practitioner and asked her to help me through Christian Science. She came to my assistance, and after just two treatments all fear disappeared and all discomfort vanished.

Later there was a slight return of the old discomfort, but I had no fear in my thought, for this time I knew truly that, in the words of our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, "Heredity is not a law" (Science and Health, p. 178). On the same page she says, "In proportion to our understanding of Christian Science, we are freed from the belief of heredity, of mind in matter or animal magnetism." The discomfort, which had occurred at a time of fatigue, was healed completely through my realizing that "the consciousness of Truth rests us more than hours of repose in unconsciousness" (ibid., p. 218).

I am indeed deeply grateful for this freedom and for the ability to accomplish without fatigue many things which I have never before done. How thankful I am to God for our beloved Leader and for her divinely inspired gift to all humanity, as well as for the marvelous organization which she has given us.
