TRUE IDENTITY

As I begin to see in Science perfect
Being, one All, encompassing each place
And filling space: the overbrooding Spirit,
Impetus of earth and universe
And man; and as I glimpse the mighty span
Of Mind's omnipotent unfolding, then
I pause, and trembling, wonder, "What am I?"

It is not as nonentity I live
And think; and not as matter's mindless selfhood,
Nor yet Mind unexpressed, for here I am.
It must be as a form of Mind I have
Identity; the mortal fades to nought.
True consciousness is Mind-derived and mine.
