FROM ANNUAL REPORTS OF CHRISTIAN SCIENCE COMMITTEES ON PUBLICATION

Connecticut

The radio and television programs of the series "How Christian Science Heals" have gone beyond all expectations in their acceptance and fruitage.

In "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" by Mary Baker Eddy (pp. 341-346) is recorded an interview with Mrs. Eddy by a reporter for the New York Herald, which was printed in that newspaper in May, 1901. He questioned her: "But the pursuit of modern material inventions?" Mrs. Eddy replied: "Oh, we cannot oppose them. They all tend to newer, finer, more etherealized ways of living. They seek the finer essences. They light the way to the Church of Christ. We use them, we make them our figures of speech. They are preparing the way for us."
