Informal Groups Report Progress

"A small group of wise thinkers is better than a wilderness of dullards and stronger than the might of empires." So writes our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, in "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" (p. 162). The following reports of the activities of informal groups of Christian Scientists are proof of the good which is being accomplished by them.

A member of The Mother Church who lives in a small town in midwestern United States writes:

"We have been meeting for over a year. Quite unexpectedly we were offered, rent free, a little community church in which to hold our meetings, and with deep gratitude we accepted. We have furnished it with a desk and chairs, and there is a piano and coal-burning stove. In our group there is a soloist with a trained voice and a pianist. A few of the group are members of The Mother Church, and two are class taught. Altogether we are eight students of our textbooks, the Bible and 'Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures' by Mrs. Eddy.
