SACRAMENT
Beside
the Galilean sea
The Master blessed the humble food.
He broke and shared the fish and bread
To feed the hungry multitude.
Today with open hearts we come
To share the sacred bread and wine,
And still the Christ calls tenderly,
"My children, come and dine."
From fruitless toil, from unsuccess,
Hearts yearning for the living bread,
We leave behind material ways
And in humility are fed.
E. Margaret Osborn
