"Praise ye the name of the Lord; praise him, O ye servants of the Lord" (Ps. 135:1). I should like to express my sincere gratitude for a healing which marked my family's introduction to Christian Science, the marvelous Science discovered by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.

The healing took place toward the end of 1935 in a country where we knew not a single Christian Scientist. Our little girl grew very ill, and after a few days she became deaf, dumb, and blind. In spite of faithful attention from several doctors and all the love which we showed in caring for her, we were told one night that we must no longer hope for her cure. The doctors told us not only that it was useless to persist in hoping for her recovery, but also that she was in danger of becoming paralyzed or enfeebled mentally.

Even though we did not really know it then, God was guiding us. A member of our family who lived in a neighboring district telephoned and talked to us about Christian Science. An exchange of telegrams put us in touch with a practitioner, a woman living in France. Less than three weeks later, without any help other than that of Christian Science treatment, our daughter had regained her ability to speak and could sit up in bed, to the great astonishment of the doctors, who came to see her. A short while later she was again perfectly normal and was back at play in the garden. Our daughter is now an attractive and athletic young lady and is preparing to be a schoolteacher.
