Christian Science found me a very sick schoolgirl, suffering from a double lateral curvature of the spine. It was a very painful condition, and at times I found it so difficult to sit or walk that I had to lie flat on my back.

At this period "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy was loaned to me by a friend. I read it, but did not understand a great deal of it at first. Slowly I began to get stronger, and after a while I was able each Sunday to ride twenty miles on a motorcycle to attend the nearest Church of Christ, Scientist.

It was necessary for me to earn my own living, and soon a position was offered me in the home of a Christian Science practitioner. I was able to do the work, and I steadily became stronger and straighter until I was free. Since then I have passed strict physical examinations which were required of me.
