It is well over thirty years since I first heard of Christian Science. My need for healing was very great, for I was in a miserable state both mentally and physically. Gradually, as I learned and practiced the truths taught by Christian Science, my health improved, and my outlook underwent a radical change.

Some years ago it became impossible for me to continue with my work, and my employer required that I be examined by a doctor. The condition was diagnosed as a case of ingrowing goiter which was inoperable. The work I was then engaged in was located eight thousand miles from my own country, a journey which in those days took nearly a month by sea. The doctor suggested that my employer should book my passage home, though he doubted whether I would reach the end of the journey alive. Instead of going home, however, I cabled a Christian Science practitioner for help, and in about two weeks I was able to take up my work again, completely healed.

This experience was made even more wonderful to me when I realized that at the same time a sense of grief at the passing of one of my parents had been healed. I was given a glimpse of God, good, filling all space. Eight thousand miles was as nothing in the work done for me by the practitioner. Space could not interfere with the operation of Science.
