INCLUDED IN GOD'S LOVE

Many today are recognizing that the human yearning to be wanted, needed, and included in a joyous circle—not standing outside—can be truly satisfied only through one source, God, infinite Love itself. We must understand that man is at one with God, included in His love.

The gracious message of Christian Science is that God is divine Love, the Father and Mother of all. To this tender Father-Mother God each one of His children is very precious; not one is left out, unwanted, or unnecessary. We read in Jeremiah that the Lord said (31: 3), "Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee." There is no beginning, no ending, and no lapse in everlasting Love. Actually, no one is excluded from Love's presence.

A young schoolboy who was small for his age learned this important lesson. The other children would not include him in their activities because of his size. It was very important to him to be accepted as part of the group. He felt shut out, lonely, and unwanted. He longed to take part in the extracurricular activities of the school, but somehow he could not break the barrier which seemed to separate him from his bigger classmates. His mother, seeing how deeply troubled and unhappy he was, consulted a Christian Science practitioner for help.
