Words can never describe how sincerely grateful I am to our Father-Mother God for the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, and for all the good I have received from faithful study of her teachings.

A serious accident happened to my eye in the summer of 1951. I had been using a solution to clean the porcelain fixtures in the bathroom, and some of the solution splashed across my face. A very troublesome infection of one eye began, and the condition continued for two years without improvement.

A noted eye specialist who examined the eye informed me that an operation would be necessary. Instead of having the operation, however, I turned wholeheartedly to Christian Science. I kept continuously before my thought the brief statement from our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 151), "Every function of the real man is governed by the divine Mind."
