SPLITTING THE ATOM

When the physical scientist split the atom and released the so-called destructive forces of mortal mind, the discovery was a counterfeit of the ever-presence of the spiritual power of divine Mind and its immediate availability.

Spirit is the only power, and this power needs no release because it is always available through prayer. What does the availability of spiritual power mean? It means the end of the belief that power exists in the material atom. It means an awareness of the boundless potency of Truth, the unexpendable energies of Life, and the inexhaustible strength of Love. It means the complete extinction of the belief that man originates in mortal mind or lives in its substratum, matter. It means that intelligence has nothing to do with brain, but that it is the substance of divine Mind.

Christian Science reveals that all consciousness is Mind; and Mind is God, and God is good, and good is the only power. The divine intelligence that God gives to man he possesses by reflection. The real man has never been in bondage to matter and cannot be destroyed by nonintelligence. The transcendent power of God reflected by man is forever present.
