I want to express my gratitude...

I want to express my gratitude to God for Christian Science and for our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who discovered this great truth. Our family has had many blessings since learning of Science. The first one came thirty-eight years ago, after the doctor had said that our child would not live through an attack of pneumonia. When a relative told me of Christian Science, I asked her to call a practitioner for me, and the case was soon healed.

I began studying the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, enrolled the children in the Christian Science Sunday School, and commenced attending a Church of Christ, Scientist. I am grateful that now I am a member of The Mother Church and a branch church, in which I serve wherever I am needed.

On several occasions we have had protection during fires in our home. One night I was awakened and seemed to hear a voice saying, "Go upstairs." I heeded this instruction and found the curtains, rug, and bedding aflame in our son's room, where he lay sleeping. He sustained only a slight burn on the arm, thanks to God's wonderful care, and the fire was soon extinguished. At another time, when our daughter and I were cleaning some clothing, a pan of gasoline caught fire. Again there was protection, and a loving neighbor came to our help. God's care has also been experienced by different members of our family in time of accident, and our four sons all came home safe after World War II. I am thankful for the Wartime Workers who helped them.
