For a number of years I searched earnestly for a religion I could accept as true, but was not satisfied with any that I investigated. One morning I was very frightened to find that I had a bad case of blood poisoning. Fearing that I would not live until the end of that day, I started to put my private papers in order. While doing this, I came across a pamphlet which I could not remember having seen before. It was a publication by The Christian Science Publishing Society, and upon reading it I immediately realized that it contained the truth for which I had been searching so long. A faint gleam of hope came into my fearful thoughts, and I decided to ask a Christian Science practitioner for help. Thanks to her loving work I was healed of the blood poisoning in a short time.

Two years later I was lying in a hospital suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis. The head surgeon said to me, "I am unable to do anything more to help you." It was then for the second time that I relied on Christian Science. I returned home, asked a practitioner to help me, and took up my business activities at once, although this seemed quite unreasonable from the medical standpoint. I was recompensed soon by a complete healing. The faithful practitioner had proved true Christ Jesus' words (John 14: 12), "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also."

These two healings reminded me of those related in the Bible, giving me the impetus I needed to study earnestly for a better understanding of Christian Science. This study was followed by many further happy experiences in the way of physical healings and other blessings. Some of them concerned members of my family and friends, to whom I had the pleasure of bringing the glad message of Truth. My becoming a member of the Church of Christ, Scientist, and receiving class instruction were two other valuable experiences.
