In the Manual of The Mother Church Mrs. Eddy provides that each Church of Christ, Scientist, shall have a Reading Room. Many times when it has been necessary for me to solve a problem, the Reading Room has offered refuge for quiet contemplation of the truths of Christian Science, giving strength and renewing courage.

I should like to relate two instances when visits to the Reading

Room have resulted in a blessing—one in the provision of supply and the other in a physical healing. The first instance occurred quite a few years ago during the depression period. We had been struggling for months to make our small income cover necessary expenses for our family of four, and it appeared that before the end of the month it would be necessary to borrow. At last we decided to take our stand and use only what we had. My husband and I went to a Reading Room to do prayerful work about the situation. While we were there I saw the solution to our problem, for these words came very distinctly to me: "Why don't you sell your car?"
