DIVINE MIND ALONE CORRECTS, HEALS, REDEEMS

Christian Science declares that nothing but divine Mind can accomplish the correction of mankind and bring about its healing and redemption from ignorance and sin. This Science makes plain that the one divine Mind is self-existent, self-expressed, immortal intelligence, or divine Principle, the source of all reality. This perfect Mind, or God, is often referred to as Life, Truth, Love, and its entire creation is free from any imperfections or restrictions. God is the power, and man in God's image exercises dominion by reflection of the divine power.

The Master claimed no power of his own, but he expressed the nature of God, good, in his healing works and in his abstinence from evil. His teaching as set forth in the Sermon on the Mount acts as a spiritually corrective influence on the human mentality.

In harmony with Jesus' teachings, Christian Science disclaims all material theories of cause and effects and goes directly to the fundamental fact that divine Mind is the source of all that is good and helpful, and of nothing else. In the light of this Science the healing of the body is seen to be an outward proof of the correction of human mentality. Mary Baker Eddy says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 423): "The Christian Scientist, understanding scientifically that all is Mind, commences with mental causation, the truth of being, to destroy the error. This corrective is an alterative, reaching to every part of the human system." Thus we learn that correction by divine Mind means the overcoming of any false sense of mind and of whatever may have seemed real to such false sense, including age, sin, sickness, and death. Jesus demonstrated God to be the only Mind.
