It is a great privilege to express...
It is a great privilege to express gratitude for Christian Science and to share some of the experiences that have come to me through the understanding of man's spiritual existence. The study and application of Christian Science enable one to relinquish fear of sin, disease, and discord in exchange for blessings of peace, joy, and well-being. I have learned that health and happiness are not at the mercy of chance and change, but are governed by the law of divine Principle, God. The spiritual sense of Soul enriches the understanding and proves our religion to be truly Christian and scientific.
The first physical healing I experienced in Christian Science was that of a severly sprained ankle. The condition was met at once as I recalled a statement of Christ Jesus' inscribed on the wall of the branch Church of Christ, Scientist, of which I am a member: "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). Previously an identical experience, which happened before I knew how to apply Christian Science, had entailed days of convalescence.
Colds, aches, and pains gradually diminished and were overcome. Mary Baker Eddy states in Science and Health (p. 316), "Christ, Truth, was demonstrated through Jesus to prove the power of Spirit over the flesh,—to show that Truth is made manifest by its effects upon the human mind and body, healing sickness and destroying sin." Soon after I had earnestly taken up the study of Christian Science, a painful ailment of many years' duration was met. Several medical specialists had pronounced the condition chronic, dangerous, and incurable without an operation. Through Christian Science treatment every trace of the disease vanished within a short time. For this demonstration of dominion I am deeply grateful.
