I grew up in a Christian home...

I grew up in a Christian home where I was taught to pray daily to God. However, I did not understand Him, and I often wondered if some day I would learn that this unknown God to whom I prayed was a myth. I revealed my thoughts to no one, but continued to pray as I had been taught, asking God to lead me to the truth. Although I became a teacher in an orthodox Sunday School, a sense of responsibility overshadowed my thought, for I was convinced that I did not know the truth regarding God.

My prayer for an understanding of God was answered after I was married, for Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy was brought into the home. It was burned by a member of the family who misunderstood its teachings, and I replaced it with another one, which mysteriously disappeared. I purchased a third one, however, and began attending a Church of Christ, Scientist. Also I placed our family of six children in a Christian Science Sunday School.

I have been healed of a severe case of hemorrhoids and of arthritis. Grief has been overcome, and I have had great protection from injury in times of accident.
