I am deeply grateful for Christian Science...

I am deeply grateful for Christian Science and for the positive rule it provides for right living. To understand the eternal protection of divine Love is to be sustained at all times, and my many applications of the truth have benefited me in the years since I have known of Christian Science. In my early years I was surrounded by fears and superstitions in regard to the future, to weather, and to hygiene. The positive ideas of Spirit have brought great freedom from these beliefs.

Chronic colds disappeared when a practitioner pointed out the resentment in my thought and helped me to overcome it. My first healing in Christian Science by my own efforts was that of a severe sore throat, which followed a feeling of sudden anger when I was maneuvered into a very embarrassing situation. Awaking one night with a sense of strangulation and pain, I opened Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I did not know what to read, but my eyes fell on the paragraph on page 248 which begins, "Love never loses sight of loveliness," and ends, "Immortal Mind feeds the body with supernal freshness and fairness, supplying it with beautiful images of thought and destroying the woes of sense which each day brings to a nearer tomb." As I read and reread these words my resentment was overcome, my fears were quieted, and a soothing feeling came to me. I fell asleep, and the next morning I was completely free from discomfort.

For the healings in our family I am very thankful. Chronic nosebleed has yielded; a nearly severed finger tip was made whole and cannot now be identified; a fractured kneecap ceased paining in a few minutes and was soon well; ptomaine poisoning and other ailments have been cured; apprehension as to future supply has been banished; grief at the passing on of loved ones has been overcome; and greater patience with others has been gained.
