RADIO PROGRAM No. 25 - God's Law Cancels Accidents

Mr. F. Vaughn Willbur of Dallas, Texas, gave the account of healing on this program. He said:

While working as a young man in a fluorspar mine in Mexico, Kentucky, I was injured in an explosion of dynamite detonators. I was testing out these caps by taking a twelve-inch fuse and putting it in a cap and lighting it with my miner's lamp, and when the fuse spit, I would toss it out in front of me over a little knoll. This one fuse didn't spit. The flame must have run down through the fuse and exploded the dynamite detonator in my hand, and that set off three boxes of one hundred caps each right alongside of me, blowing me eight or ten feet into the air.

When I was a young boy growing up, my mother had taught me to utterly reject any accident or emergency as un-Godlike, that it was not sent by God, that it had no power over me, and that I did not have to submit to it, that I could resist it. And as an aid to this, she taught us to declare, "It's a lie." That is, that it is not true, that it's not Godlike. And so on this occasion, when this occurred I yelled at the top of my voice, "It's a lie," and then walked up to the office and told them what had happened. And the doctors that were called in to examine me ordered me sent to a hospital, put me on a train that afternoon at three o'clock, and I reached the hospital about seven o'clock in the evening.
