Before I learned of Christian Science I was of the Hebrew faith. I knew the Ten Commandments and stayed as close to God as I knew how. But I never got to know the purity and goodness of Christ Jesus nor the holiness of his teachings.

After an accident, in which a heavy object fell on my head, I suffered from concussion and from a complication of other difficulties. A good neighbor asked me to attend Christian Science services with her, saying that this would help to overcome my problem by bringing me closer to God. Later I got in touch with a practitioner, who pointed out Mrs. Eddy's statement in Science and Health (p. 424): "Accidents are unknown to God, or immortal Mind, and we must leave the mortal basis of belief and unite with the one Mind, in order to change the notion of chance to the proper sense of God's unerring direction and thus bring out harmony."

I learned that God is the only physician, and I gave up material remedies. While reading the Sermon on the Mount I received my healing. A fuller sense of the real man came to my thought, and there remained no trace of the difficulty. For this I am most grateful. With the Psalmist I can say (Ps. 118:6), "The Lord is on my side." I give thanks to God for Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, and for Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, whose teachings are helping all mankind.
