[A recent issue contained a report of a sermon ... in which the speaker] decried those who put their trust in "new ideas," and in this category included Christian Science. Such a statement seems quite out of keeping with this age. when, every clay, old beliefs are giving way before the discovery of new ideas. To describe the teaching of Christian Science as "new" is quite incorrect.

Mary Baker Eddy made her discovery of the science of metaphysical healing in the year 1866. In 1875 she published the first edition of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," which contains the full statement of Christian Science and includes a chapter devoted to Christian Science practice. . . .
