During my first year of college...
During my first year of college away from home my mother began to study Christian Science. When I came home for summer vacation I noticed such a remarkable improvement in her health and in her general outlook that I decided to find out what had brought this about. I began reading the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and before I had finished it I was healed of the need of wearing glasses. I found that Christian Science not only heals disease but is a satisfying religion which points out with crystal clarity the way of salvation from sin, disease, death, sorrow, indeed, all evil.
The application of this Science has healed me of colds, indigestion, and the effects of an automobile accident. Some of the healings were with the help of consecrated practitioners, while others were accomplished through my own study. Christian Science has also benefited me financially, morally, and spiritually. When rightly applied it has been an unfailing help in my business activities. I am grateful that through the study of Christian Science and the endeavor to live in accordance with its teachings unlovely traits of character have been overcome. I am profoundly thankful for the understanding that this Science gives us of God and of man's relation to Him.
Church activity has been a source of joy and inspiration to me. Among my other blessings are class instruction, a loving wife and a happy home, satisfying and constructive employment, and enduring friendships.
