A few years ago I talked with a woman who had been a Christian Scientist for many years. She told me of numerous people she knew who had been healed by Christian Science of so-called incurable diseases and had lived from fifteen to forty years longer than they had been expected to live under other kinds of treatment.
This woman said that she herself had had a so-called incurable disease when she was a young woman; and at a time when it was believed she was dying, a relative brought a Christian Science practitioner to her bedside. She soon was completely and permanently healed and subsequently had been a Christian Science practitioner for forty years.
I am a living witness of just such an experience as this woman related. Almost thirty years ago I was seriously ill with stomach trouble. Every remedy I knew of had been tried and had failed. I had not a relative or friend who thought I could live.
