I should like to add my testimony...

I should like to add my testimony of gratitude, as I have often been helped by those printed in the Christian Science periodicals, as well as by those given at Wednesday evening meetings in Churches of Christ, Scientist.

I attended my first service in a Christian Science church on a Sunday evening, at the request of my mother, who said she felt very ill. I was so helped and uplifted during the service that I was healed of indigestion and biliousness, from which I had suffered for several years. On my return home I found that my mother was well again. Some time later she was healed through the work of a loving practitioner, whom we had never seen, of constipation, from which she had suffered since childhood. I was told later that the healing had come through the application of the passage in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 463), "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive." I am very grateful for these healings.

As I gained more understanding of Christian Science, I was enabled to prove the truth of Mrs. Eddy's statement on page 385 of Science and Health, "Whatever it is your duty to do, you can do without harm to yourself." For some years it was necessary for me to care for a home, as well as to go out to business, and although during this period I had very little rest, the passage quoted was a continuous support for me.
