It is with a grateful heart that I give this testimony regarding the healing power of Christian Science. Whilst I was crossing a busy thoroughfare a woman beside me, who was wheeling a low pushcart, suddenly changed her course and turned sharply in front of me, pinning my feet under the pushcart. The queue behind me, not knowing what was happening to me, continued to press forward; and I was thrown heavily to the street. A man and a woman helped me up and took me across the road to a seat, for I was unable to stand alone. During this time I was endeavoring to know the truth.

I found that by holding to a railing I could get from one seat to another, but when the railings ended I floundered. Then I managed to cling to walls and fences until I was able to reach a telephone and ask a practitioner for help. To do this I had to go up and down a flight of stone steps. This was accomplished through God's power upholding me, because I feel that it would have been impossible for me to have done so otherwise.

When I reached home friends wanted to call a doctor, but I assured them that I was quite all right and was having help in Christian Science. Looking back, I know it was God's help which enabled me to carry on. Although I did not know then the extent of my injuries, I later found that my leg had been broken.
