In gratitude to God for Christian Science I give this testimony. As I stepped from the outside entrance of a second-floor apartment onto the porch to descend the stairs, the porch and stairs collapsed, and I fell with them to the ground. Although I tried to rise above the sense testimony and to realize that the body had no more intelligence than the watch I wore, which was intact, I was unable to move. The breastbone, back, hip, shoulder blade, and ankle appeared to be broken. There was something wrong with the stomach, and a cut on the scalp caused a severe headache.

For two days my husband and I tried to work out the problem ourselves. However, it was not until my husband called for the help of a practitioner that I was able to express activity and to realize dominion over pain. Through the law of divine Principle complete inactivity gave way at once to the ability to turn my head and to move my hands and feet.

There was no physical examination and no thought by my husband or me of having medical attention. As the practitioner's work continued day after day, the necessary adjustments took place, and the body resumed its normal functions. I missed attending church only two weeks and before long was completely free. The experience brought a sacred consciousness of man's unity with God and a precious sense of God's presence and power that will always be of help to me. My husband's firm stand and loving service were of great benefit. Our whole thought was of God and His creation, perfect man. In fact, I carried on in the practice of Christian Science and was able to help one who had fallen downstairs.
