After many years in which I have found much to help me in the testimonies I have read in The Christian Science Journal and in the Sentinel, I offer my testimony with the hope that it will help someone.

It was in desperation that I first requested a friend to help me in Christian Science, not knowing how that help would be given. When I asked her what Christian Science was she only said, "Christian Science will always help and heal, because harmony is a present reality." This seemed to me too good to be true. Since then, however, it has been proved to me.

At the time I asked for help I was in mental agony. I had been separated from my children, and I felt that I had been badly treated, although partly as a result of my own fault. My friend told me that I would know that the work which was done was God's work when I came to see that all concerned could only be benefited and that God does not take good from one and give it to another. As I began to study Christian Science and to put into practice what I was learning, wonderful things began to happen. Physical ills disappeared, and I gained a greater sense of peace. As the months passed I began to drop mere human planning, pride, resentment, criticism, and self-pity and to strive instead for more wisdom, patience, understanding, and love—above all, love.
