In our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures"...

In our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, we read (p. 13): "Love is impartial and universal in its adaptation and bestowals. It is the open fount which cries, 'Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters.'" How grateful I am to know that no one can be excluded from Love's care!

I was summoned to go to my sister, who was ill with a heart ailment. The members of her family, who were not Christian Scientists, stated that they felt the end was very near. As I packed my bag to catch the train I picked up a copy of The Christian Science Journal. My eyes fell on these words in one of the articles: "Who are you? and what are you?" My answer came, "I am a Christian Scientist, and I am going' to act like one." The trip to my sister's home took all morning. With my constant study the reality of Spirit and the unreality of matter became more and more apparent to me, and mortal thoughts were replaced with spiritual understanding. I did not treat my sister; I dispelled erroneous thoughts from my own consciousness.

When I reached my destination and walked into the house, giving a familiar call, my sister answered in a strong voice and walked into the room, dressed and looking well. She said that during the morning she had felt so well that she decided to get up so that I would not find her in bed. I stayed with her a week, during which we went out every day and had an enjoyable time. She remained well.
