Advertising Our Textbook and Reading Rooms

The now familiar advertising of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and the Reading Rooms appeared in twenty-four of our daily and weekly newspapers this year on the co-operative plan. Under this plan the advertising cost is shared by branch churches or societies and the Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy. More of these advertisements were published this year than ever before in the state of Texas. In El Paso and San Antonio they were printed in Spanish.

A Reading Room librarian reported this heartening instance of fruitage: A man came in saying that he had seen in the paper the Reading Room advertisement with the caption, "Prayer that Heals." All his life, he said, he had been seeking to pray effectively. He and his wife had been troubled for years about their son and had prayed without seeming to receive an answer. He borrowed a copy of Science and Health from the lending library.
