The reading, Lord, is Thy work;
To follow Thee is mine.
At this, Thy loving meal of grace,
All glory, praise, is Thine.

These books, our hallowed preachers,
Blessed, authorized of Thee,
Bring now to yearning humanhood
Christ's healing purity.

No mortal tongue interprets
The truths that here are shown;
In quiet, secret sharings
One Mind reveals its own.

Oh, lead me, then, dear Father;
Thy tender arms enfold
This waiting congregation.
Send blessings manifold.
