Church Dedications

Lima, Ohio (First Church).

First Church of Christ, Scientist, Lima, will be dedicated in special services at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday. ... The First Reader of the church will conduct the service.

The new church, located at 900 West Market Street, was completed February 26, 1950.

Construction of the church began in April, 1949, and first services were held there in the Sunday School rooms on Thanksgiving Day of that year. First services in the completed auditorium were held February 26, 1950.

Christian Science was introduced in Lima in 1888. ... The group first met at 111 East Spring Street, then moved to the Cincinnati Block and from there to the Masonic Temple. In July, 1913, the congregation purchased and remodeled its own building ..., where services were held until the present church was completed.
