THE HUMAN AND DIVINE COINCIDENCE

The life and healing works of Christ Jesus proved the human and divine coincidence. Our Master demonstrated, time and again, that the human sense of things could be transformed by spiritual understanding. To this end the divine is seen to coincide with the human by replacing the false with the true. Human consciousness is then lifted into a perception of reality, where man is seen in his present and forever perfection.

In speaking of the Science of God and man, Mary Baker Eddy says in "Unity of Good" (p. 52): "It is the kingdom of heaven, the ever-present reign of harmony, already with us. Hence the need that human consciousness should become divine, in the coincidence of God and man, in contradistinction to the false consciousness of both good and evil, God and devil,—of man separated from his Maker." Then Mrs. Eddy adds, "This is the precious redemption of soul, as mortal sense, through Christ's immortal sense of Truth, which presents Truth's spiritual idea, man and woman."

It is this redemption from a personal sense of soul, or mortal belief, that brings about a change in one's consciousness from sickness to health, from sorrow to joy, from evil to good, from darkness to light, thus demonstrating the coincidence of the human with the divine and bringing to light man's true being and his oneness, or unity, with God.
