Christian Science is certainly a...

Christian Science is certainly a religion that meets every need when its teachings are steadfastly applied. Over twenty-five years ago I had the joyous experience of attending the Christian Science Sunday School for a while. Little did I know then that this Science would bring so much happiness into my life later on. The love and kindness expressed to me by my Sunday School teacher made a lasting impression on me, although I did not at that time become a serious student of Science.

When I married I was faced with many trials, mainly due to our moving to a part of the country which was strange to me. I prayed earnestly to be shown how to think correctly. One day when I made a trip to the nearest town I noticed the sign "Christian Science Reading Room." There I borrowed Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. For some time I could not understand much of it except the first chapter, entitled "Prayer." But the truths in this chapter met my need at that time and filled the void resulting from my not having association with other Christian Scientists.

After the birth of my first baby I was very ill for many months. I turned to medical help, and three doctors and a nerve specialist gave varying diagnoses, ranging from heart trouble to neurasthenia. Two of them agreed that my health depended upon my having an operation. An aunt visited me and recommended that I return to my former home. I did this, and there I started having treatment from a Christian Science practitioner. In two weeks I was well, able to take care of my child and to do all my other duties. The healing came through the realization that "the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword" (Hebr. 4:12).
