Soon after I became interested in Christian Science I was healed of blood poisoning in the hand and arm. This healing came through the good work of a practitioner.

On another occasion, while my wife and I were attending a Wednesday evening testimony meeting, soon after the reading from the desk had started I noticed that the light in the building seemed to be getting dim. Because the voice of the Reader gradually became inaudible to me and I could neither hear nor see him, a fear gripped me that I was passing on. My wife's attention was directed to me by those near us. She touched me and spoke to me. This roused me somewhat, and I realized dimly where I was and that I was being spoken to, though I heard nothing. Then I again lapsed into unconsciousness.

My wife left her seat to ask an usher to get help for me. He had witnessed what had happened and quickly sat in the seat my wife had vacated. In a short time the condition left me more quickly than it had come. It was as though I had come out of black darkness into clear light. When I turned in my seat, expecting to see my wife, the usher, who was a practitioner, asked in a whisper if I was all right. I nodded that I was. The condition was completely healed at that time, and it has never returned.
